William “Bill” Everette Cowan, Jr., age 73, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was born September 2, 1945 in Wise County, VA, a son of the late William Everette Cowan, Sr. and Ida Mae Ison Cowan.

In his early years Bill bowled on a men’s league and played softball for Ratliff Candy Company. Bill retired from Bristol Compressors. He provided for his family whom he loved very much. Bill was a member of New Grace Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Brenda Turner Cowan; sons, Chris Cowan and Mike Cowan; grandson, Lee Cowan; brother, Joe Cowan and wife, Barbara.

The funeral service for Mr. Cowan will be at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Sam Haynes officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. prior to the service. The committal service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Glenwood Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Tennessee Army National Guard.
