Wade Charles Rouse, age 88, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mr. Rouse was born to John Rouse and Rosa Lee Rouse-Gentry on January 3, 1930 in Shady Valley, Tenn. He was one of 10 children. He enlisted in the Amy in 1946 and served until 1948. He retired from Helm’s Candy Company in 2013. Mr. Rouse attended Riverbend Baptist Church of Bristol, Tenn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Rouse; brothers, Paul Rouse, Glen Rouse and Edward Gentry; and sisters, Ruth Gibson, Grace Watson and Lena Moyer.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Stophel Rouse; daughter, Yvonne Brown and husband Charles; granddaughter, Taneshia Minnick and husband Nathan; great granddaughter, Jayden Minnick; brothers, Ralph Gentry and G.C. Gentry; sister, Juanita Daughtrey; and brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Ora Lee Osborne.
The funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2018 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Cumbow officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard.
