Thomas “Tom” Clayton Peters, age 77, of Piney Flats, Tennessee went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Dominion Senior Living of Bristol.  


He was born February 7, 1941 in Elmore, Ohio, and he was the son of the late Clayton and Mary Peters. He graduated from Salem Oak Harbor High School in 1959. He went to college at the Chicago Technical Institute, graduating with a mechanical engineering degree.  He was formerly employed by North American Rockwell at Cape Canaveral, as the Director of Test Engineering at Euclid Inc., and retired from Hardox Corp.  Mr. Peters was a U.S. Army Veteran.  He had a passion for woodworking, gardening, cruising, and spending time with his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.


He is survived by his loving wife, Penny Manning Peters; daughter, Jennifer Moore and husband Bryan of Boise, ID, their children, Hunter, Clay, and Reagan; son, Tommy Peters, Jr. and wife Mende of Blountville, TN, and their daughter Olivia; sisters, Mary Lou Baldwin of Toledo, OH, and Suzanne Peters of Rochester Hills, MI.


The memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday, March 12, 2018 at Blountville Christian Church with Tommy Peters, Jr. officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the church.
