Ronald Lee Bean, age 52, of Kingsport, Tenn., passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born October 28, 1968 in Livonia, MI, a son of the late James Gayland and Lillie Ann Moore Bean. Ronald was a caregiver for mentally handicapped adults and children, and worked as an installer of store sets. He was a musician and played for several bands including Haven, Trainwreck and Idle Soul. Ronald coached youth in baseball, basketball and softball. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Tonya Robinson Bean; sons, Chris Cowan and wife Dakota, Jonathan White and wife Brandi, and Jakob Bean of the home; daughters, Alyssa Bean and boyfriend, Tyler Pickering, Marsha Shelton and Sierra Davis; dad, Rodger Horner; grandchildren, Gracelyn Pickering, Austin White, LeeLynn White, Christopher Shelton, Cheyenne Shelton and Jase Walsh; sisters, Charlene Bridson, Karen Wilks and husband Dave, Heather Powers and husband Mike; brother, Dave Horner and wife Barb; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; extended family, Johnny and Brittany Walsh; best friends, Presley Royston, Shawn Sampson, Scott Taylor, Chris Morris, James Cobb, Phil Royston, Jr, Stephanie Sampson, and Larry “Speedy” Robinson; and furry friend, Kilo.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Weaver Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the summer.
