Loving husband of 64 years, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Robert “Bobby” King Watkins, age 84, of Bluff City, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at his residence.


He was born March 27, 1934 in Bluff City, Tenn., a son of the late Dewey and Beatrice King Watkins. Bobby was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and retired from the Sullivan County Schools Maintenance Dept. He was a member of Elizabeth Capel United Methodist Church. Bobby was an avid hunter and touched the lives of many youth through coaching baseball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Milhorn.


He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jean Lovelace Watkins; children, Ray Watkins and wife Sandy, Janet Rush and husband Chuck, and Jerry Watkins; grandchildren, Chase Watkins and wife Keileigh, Bradley Rush, Meg Rush, Collin Watkins, Brandy Watkins, and Emily Watkins; and great grandchildren, Brantley Watkins and Clara Watkins.


The funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis Milhorn officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chase Watkins, Bradley Rush, Blake Brettelle, Lee Hill for Collin Watkins, Garry Milhorn, and Mark Milhorn. Honorary pallbearers will be his hunting and baseball friends.
