Rev. Ted M. Campbell, age 82, of Bluff City, TN went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2021 at his residence. Ted was born in Russell County, VA a son to the late Barcley and Sadie Blankenship Campbell. Rev. Campbell had been a minister for over 50 years at Lime Hill Baptist and Reedy Creek Baptist among others. He loved competing in all types of sports and at one time held many Virginia High School scoring records in basketball. Ted loved life and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother – Bobby Campbell.
Survivors include: Wife of 61 years – Joyce Fields Campbell, Son – Rick Campbell and wife Mary Ann, daughter – Michelle Hoback and husband Chris, grandchildren – Hunter Hoback and Laiken Hoback, sisters – Betty Yates and Faye Barton and husband Don, several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 1 PM at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Larry Hall officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2-4 pm at Weaver Funeral Home.

The Walmart cashiers will miss his smile. We are so sorry for the loss but he is no longer in the pain of life on this earth.
Just found out about Ted’s passing. Considering his legendary exploits at the Y, I think we all thought he had many more years to go. He was an amazing player up to his last day in the gym. He set a standard that few will achieve. ALWAYS had a smile on his face and a good word for everyone. Great player. Greater person.
