“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith…” 2 Timothy 4:7. Evangelist Dr. Robert W. “Bob” Steele went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 18, 2021 at his home after a period of declining health.

Prayers go out to the Steele family. I always enjoyed working with Trooper Steele taught me a lot of things on the road and from the pulpit.
Brother Steele will be missed. Such a gracious man of God. He was the first preacher in the area to befriend me. He also introduced me to the Church I pastor in Meadowview Va, High Point Baptist Church.
One of the finest gentlemen I ever had the privilege to meet and sit under his preaching. Heaven gained a wonderful soul. Prayers for his family and friends.
He was a wonderful preacher, he will be missed. Willis and Carmen Blevins
I always loved him as a child. He was not blood kin, but I loved him as my uncle anyway, always called him uncle Bob. He was the sweetest man you could ask for. He will be missed by many. He is finally home..
I grew up going to many revivals listening to Rev. Bob Steele. I also remember when he served on the VSP. Such a Godly man! Prayers for his family and all who loved him.
They were wonderful friends and would spend the day with us when he preached.at Longs Bend Church. We had some good times together. We even got stuck up on the mountain in the snow. He carried a card in his wallet saying he could eat with me anytime if he presented the card. He used it often. They were perfect for each other and are together again. I will seethe again some day when I go home.
To be absent from the body is to be present with our Lord.
Bob Steele was conducting a revival at Dentons Valley Church in Abingdon when I accepted Christ as my Savior. Later in life I was privileged to work with him in law enforcement. He presided services at my fathers funeral and I will never forget his chosen scriptures.
Rev. Steele will never be forgotten and his sermons will always be held close to my heart and life.
This is not an end but only a beginning of life eternal with our Lord, which is what he worked so diligently to achieve. Until we meet again….
My condolences to the Steele family. Bro. Bob was a big part of the Ketron family’s lives as long as I can remember. He and Anita will both be missed so much. I can only imagine how happy Bob was to go home. It’s only good-bye for a short time!
Don’t you know there is some shouting in heaven tonight

Bob was David’s Sunday school teacher when we were married in 1962. We stayed in his class with the young people
until a Young Married’s class was formed. Through the years Bob & Anita have been a very special part of our growing
in our Christian life. His love for Jesus and preaching in the Power of the Holy Spirit and their faithfulness to the cause
revealed to us what the Christian life is all about. Loved them so much.
Prayers for the family. I loved to hear him preach. Such a great man if God. Will truly be missed.

I HAVE KNOWN BRO BOB FOR OVER 50 YEARS. ALWAYS FOUND HIM TO BE AN HUMBLE SERVANT OF OUR SAVIOUR. HE PREACHED SEVERAL REVIVALS IN OUR CHURCH AND ALWAYS BLESSED OUR PEOPLE. I HAVE BEEN IN BOB’S HOME AND ALWAYS FELT WELCOMED BY HIM AND SISTER ANITA. WE WILL SURE MISS THEM BOTH, BUT HEAVEN WILL BE GREATER TODAY.
Prayers for Rev. Steele’s family and friends. He was a wonderful Christian man. He married my husband (Robert Cornett now deceased) and I on February 22, 1968. I’m sure many other couples that he married are saddened by his loss, but joyful that he has arrived at his heavenly home! May Gods peace and grace be with all!
Heaven just got sweeter again! Bro. Bob and Anita were so precious. A blessing to all who knew and loved them. Thank God we will see them again one day. Praying for the family.
I will make it short “Oh, how better this world would be if we had just a few men of God of this caliber”!
What a fine preacher & man. Bob & Anita lived their whole lives working for the Lord. He’s rejoicing now. All of his troubles are over RIP. ❤️
I had the privilege at an early age of meeting and hearing Bro. Bob preach at Sutherland Community Church. What a Blessing!
My parents, Paul and Pearl Henderson loved Bob and Anita too. There was always a special dinner that Mom prepared for them during revivals or anytime they were in the area. Those are Precious Memories! He presided over services for my Mom’s funeral and what a comfort from his message during a very sad time for our family.
With caring thoughts and prayers for the family and all who knew him.
