Rev. Jimmy Edward Epperson Sr., age 80, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at his home. He was born September 12, 1941 in Bristol, Va., a son of the late Claude and Helen Love Epperson. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. He was the pastor of Charity Pentecostal Tabernacle and owner of Epperson Bros Construction. Jimmy was an avid golfer and played in numerous local tournaments.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Edward Epperson, Jr.; sister, Ruth Davis; and grandson, Matthew Harr.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Peggy Bishop Epperson; children, Penny Harr and husband Alden “JoBud”, Luawana Robb and husband Kevin, Jeff Epperson and wife Beth, Rebecca Epperson Hand and husband Jason, Daniel Epperson and wife Casey; siblings, Peggy Worley, Betty Bryan, Kenneth Epperson and Darrell Epperson; grandchildren, Teneka Jennings, Latasha Robb, Erika Robb, Briana Robb, Peyton Epperson, Hailey Nidiffer, Kait Nidiffer, Logan Nidiffer, Willow Epperson and Ariana Al-Ameri; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Charity Pentecostal Tabernacle with Rev. Dennis Burnette, Rev. Johnny Dillard, Rev. Michael Wilson and Rev. Jason Hand officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 until 5:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The interment will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 at Eastern Heights Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Veterans Honor Guard DAV 39. Pallbearers will be Jeff Epperson, Daniel Epperson, Logan Nidiffer, Alden Harr, Kevin Robb and Jason Hand. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Epperson, Darrell Epperson and Will Wyatt.
