Raymond Martin “Marty” Herndon, age 57, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at his residence.

 

He was born December 10, 1960 in Bristol, VA. Marty was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area. He was a brick and block mason for Herndon Masonry. Marty was a member of Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Barker; grandmother, Irene “Nonnie” Booher, several siblings; and special mother-in-law, Nancy Jones.

 

He is survived by his wife, Donna Jones Herndon; sons, Justin Herndon and Brandi, Joseph Hobbs and Hazel, and Jonathan Hobbs and Autumn; special grandchildren, Hunter, Chloe, Harper, Hayden, and Nicholas(on the way); special cousin, Darrell Thomas; uncle, Kenny Thomas and Missy; mother, Mary Jo Jones; siblings, Tim Taylor, Tammy Taylor, Michael Smith, Patricia Dillard, Johnny Barker, and other siblings; stepmother, Joyce Barker; father-in-law, Robert Jones; brother-in-law, Bo Jones; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

 

A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Rowlette officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Weaver Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
