Philip E. Tillison, age 80, of Bristol, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at his residence.

He was born on March 11, 1937, in Bristol, Va. a son of the late Herman Tillison and Lena Canter Montgomery. He had lived his life in the Bristol area. He was He worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company for more then 44 years, and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Mr. Tillison was a civil air patrol, an avid golfer, Virginia State Champion Archer, and he enjoyed bowling.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marjorie “Boots” Garrett Tillison; children, Jeffrey Tillison and Becky, and Stephen Tillison and wife, Carol; grandchildren, Whitney, Zane, and Ashley; nine great grandchildren; brother, David Montgomery; sister, Janice Montgomery; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 6 p.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2018, in Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. William Arnold officiating and the Rev. Dennis Burnette assisting. Pallbearers will be George Gillen, Randy Garrett, Mark Garrett, Kenneth Tillison, Mark Millard, and Tracy Bratton. The burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018, in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 5:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 1212 Rhode Island Avenue, Bristol, VA 24201.
