Philip David Haynes, age 79, of Bristol, TN went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center.  He was born September 26, 1941 in Bristol, VA, and was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area.  He retired from Strongwell, and was a former employee of Bristol Steel.  Mr. Haynes was a member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church where he was a choir member.  He was a deacon at West Hills Baptist Church and Bethel View Baptist Church.  He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and was a member of the Sullivan County Rescue Squad. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Morley Lewis; his father, Herbert W. Haynes; and step-mother, Ruth Crockett Haynes.  Surviving include his loving wife of 53 years, Anne Lorene Franklin Haynes; children, Beth A. Haynes, David S. Haynes and wife Sidney, and Andrea C. Haynes; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sister, Marilyn Beagle and husband Wally; brother, Bill Haynes and wife Lynn; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 24, 2021 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phil Whitaker, Rev. Andy Sweeney, and Son, David Haynes. Pallbearers will be Blake Haynes, Zack Strouth, Steven Franklin, Anthony Ketron, Johnny Hutchins and Jason Carter.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
