Lucille Jarvis Barker, age 97, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at her daughters residence. She was born August 6, 1921 in Winston-Salem, NC, a daughter of the late Colonel and Lena Jennings Jarvis. Lucille had lived in the Bristol area since 1962 and previously in Sugar Grove, Va. She was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church and attended Fellowship Chapel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Garnett E. Barker; brothers, C.B. and Edna Jarvis, Raymond and Treva Jarvis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, June and Velma Barker, Mack and Annette Barker, JoAnn Bowles and Tom Barker.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Greene and husband Mike; grandson, Aaron Greene and wife Brandie; great grandson, Wyatt Greene; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; brother-in-law, Jerry Bowles; and sister-in-law, Carol Barker.

The funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Price and Rev. Les Ketron officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2019 at Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Galliher, Noah Bowman, Frank Keller, Alex Todt, Jerry Sams, Eric Harper, Greg Vincill, Charlie Wright, Johnny Greene, and Adam Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Fellowship Chapel, 201 Crockett St, Bristol, VA 24201. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Michael, Amy, and Brittany with Caris Hospice Care, her caregivers, Joyce Brummitt and Pat Ingram, Rev. Scott Price and Fellowship Chapel Church Family, Fellowship Sunday School Class and Alex Todt. Also a special thanks to Frank Boardwine, Jerry Vincill, Moe and Sharon Adair for visiting.
