Joseph (Joe) Herman Drye, born May 15, 1988, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, August 2, 2021.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Drye; his father and mother, Charles and Lynne Drye; his father and mother in-law, Sam and Sylvia Haynes; brothers, Andrew Drye, Tyler Drye and Stephen Haynes; sisters, Jennifer Drye, Jithu Ramesh and Stephanie Haynes; niece and nephew Charlotte and Lucas Drye; God-daughter, Stella Pou; and several aunts, cousins, and special friends whom he loved dearly.

From starting his life as a premature baby, to becoming the largest of 3 boys, Joe constantly defied the odds and lived his life thoroughly. Joe grew up in Jackson, South Carolina; but established a great life for himself with his wife Sharon, in Bristol, Tennessee. Joe loved his family, friends, church, New Grace Baptist Church, sport shooting, and the South Carolina Gamecocks. He was a man with a loving heart, a philosopher’s mind, and a loyalty to others that was unmatched. Joe was a graduate of the University of South Carolina at Aiken; where his studies were focused in History, Political Science, and Philosophy. Along with being an accomplished IT Engineer and Technical Program Manager, Joe found a fondness and talent for home improvement and woodworking projects. He will be missed by everyone he came into contact with; for to know Joe, was to love Joe.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 7 pm at New Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Haynes officiating.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 until 6:45 pm prior to the service.  The committal service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 2 pm at Jackson Memorial Park in Jackson, SC.
