James Wayne Davidson, age 77, of Bristol, Va., passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019.
He was born July 10, 1941 in Jenkins, KY a son to the late Roddie and Elizabeth Davidson. James worked several years for Bristol Steel & Iron Works and Carolina Steel. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Blountville. James loved fishing and hunting and especially spending time with his family and reading his Bible. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Davidson; and sister, Mildred Tackett.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Davidson; daughter, Karen Robinette and husband Johnny; granddaughter, Lindsey Robinette and fiancé Sammy Henkel; great grandsons, Samuel Henkel and Jaxon Henkel; brother-in-law, Jim Mullins; sister-in-law, Jeanette Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Mullins, Jimmy Deckard and Pastor Eddie Zimmerman officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jim Mullins, Johnny Robinette, Sammy Henkel, Doug Bowery, Steve Self, and Jesse Taylor.
