Jack R. Trent, age 81, of Bristol, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 10, 1937 in Bristol, Tenn. Jack served in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox where he received outstanding trainee. He also served in the Army Reserves. He graduated from Virginia High School where he was drum major for the Virginia High Band. Jack was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and retired from Combined Insurance Co. of America. Jack was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a bagpiper for the Shriners and also a bugler for the VFW for many years. Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Nannie F. Trent.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia “Patty” Trent; children, Mark R. Trent and wife Sherry, and DeLisa Mullins and husband Randy; grandchildren, Josh Trent and wife Natasha, Logan Tuell, and Nolan Trent; great grandchildren, Ryan Trent and Brinkley Trent; special dogs, Jake and Susie.
The funeral service will be held 6 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Kidd and Rev. Ted Booth Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haven of Rest, 624 Anderson Street, Bristol, TN 37620 or to The Bristol Humane Society, Margaret B.
