Gene Edward Eller, age 66, of Bristol, Va., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at his home. He was born March 16, 1952 in Bristol, Va., a son of the late Paul J. and Margaret Marie Clawson Eller. Gene served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from June 1971 through March 1973.

He was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and a former employee of Rainero Tile and City Cab. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Joe Eller, Dewey Jim Eller, Ted Eller, and Randy Eller.

He is survived by brothers, Bill Eller, Terry Eller and wife Sandy, and John Eller; sisters, Mary Johnson and husband Pete, Janie Wheeler and husband Larry, Annie Johnson and husband Sammy, Judy Cowan and husband Rick, Mabel Ruble and husband Bob, Pam Trinkle and husband Danny, Ginny Musick and husband Larry; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Eller; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2019 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Branch officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. prior to the service. Military honors will be conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard.
