Edna “Tootsie” Morrell Cox, age 86, of Bluff City, Tenn., went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family at her home on January 6, 2018.  

She was born September 24, 1931 in Bristol, TN, a daughter of the late Louis and Arlene Carrier Morrell. She lived all of her life in the Bristol area.  Edna and her husband, Rev. Carl R. Cox served their Lord faithfully and were the founders of Faith Chapel and ministered there for 32 years.  At the time of her death she was attending Rockhold United Methodist Church.   In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Carl R. Cox; sisters, Leola Howley and husband Tom, Naomi Hartley, Reva Shaver; brothers, Glenn Morrell and wife Thelma, Bobby Morrell; sisters-in-law, Crita Morrell and Ann Morrell; brother-in-law, Dalton Hartley.


Her survivors include her children, Wanda Robinson and husband Jim, Ted Cox and wife Beverly, Gerald Cox and wife Vickie, Tim Cox, Cheryl Ellis and husband Tom; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sisters, Iva Dean Harper and husband Henry, Anna Mae Doyle and husband Earl, Frances Pippin and husband Sanford, June Hartley and  Wilma Morrell; brothers, H

The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018 in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis Milhorn officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. prior to the service.  The committal service and interment will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Crumley Cemetery. The family and friends will meet at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
