Ed Sterling Crook, age 71, of Blountville, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born September 5, 1949 in Morgantown, West Virginia, a son of the late Herbert S. Crook and Hazel Burbridge. Ed was a U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He served as minister for White Oak Presbyterian Church of Freemont, NC, First Presbyterian Church of Ellerbee, NC, Walnut Hill Presbyterian Church of Bristol, TN for 16 years, and Zion Presbyterian Church of Chester, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother who raised him, Goldie Blair.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Ellen Steele Crook; niece, Jennifer VanEss and husband Nick and their daughter, Emmie; nephew, David Brown and wife Jaime and their children, Evan, Jackson, Alex, Ashlynne and Sam; and special cousin, Kenny Reed and wife Darlene; brothers and sisters, Royce and Judy Brown, Curt and Dixie Steele, and Johnny and Lynnae Steele.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Eastern Heights Cemetery with Dr. Rick Light officiating. Friends may come by between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Weaver Funeral Home to pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church, Mission Fund, 431 Old Jonesboro Rd, Bristol, TN 37620.
