Donald A. Dye, age 82, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born August 18, 1936 in Richlands, Va., a son of the late Paul and Margie Boyd Dye.

Donald lived most of his life in the Bristol area and was a member of The Bridge Assembly of God Church. He worked at various places during his life including as an assistant manager for Lowe’s, owner/operator of Viking Vacuum Cleaners, insurance salesman for Huff-Cook insurance, and as a coal miner.   He served as a minister and started Epping Springs Church in Glade Spring, VA and continued his service to the Lord throughout his life. 

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley A. Dye; children, Donald K. Dye and wife Marjorie, Barry J. Dye and wife Diana, and Suzanne P. Dollar and husband Rick; grandchildren, Donny K. Dye, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Rachel Adams and husband Nick, Barry J. Dye, Jr. and wife Misty, Crystal N. Hartley and husband Wayne, Matthew L. Davis and wife Angela, and Ryan Davis; brothers, Lloyd Dye and Travis Dye; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herb Peak officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 until 5:45 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Va.
