Delcie Elizabeth (Offield) Baines, age 86, passed peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the home of her daughter, Pamela Susan Nunez and son-in-law James “Jim” Nunez of Bristol, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  

 

She was a stay at home mother to her three daughters and always provided loving care while keeping her home a haven for family.

 

Delcie was born the daughter of Earnest and Minnie Offield on May 20, 1931 in Bristol, Tennessee, where she remained a life-long resident.  Married to the late Howard Robert “Bob” Baines in 1950 the couple celebrated 58 years of marriage before her husband’s passing in 2008.  The couple had three daughters, Jeannie Faye Martin (deceased), Pamela Nunez and husband James “Jim” of Bristol, and Linda Bambino and one granddaughter, Marissa Bambino of Kingsport.

 

Other than her children, Delcie and her younger siblings always stayed close.  She will be missed by brothers, Kelly, Darrel and Gary Offield as well as her sister, Pat Offield.

 

The funeral service will be held 3 pm Friday, January 26, 2018 at Cold Spring Presbyterian Church with Pastor Doug LaPointe officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will follow the service at Cold Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Perry Baines, Sonny Baines, Rob Baines, James Nunez, Kent Roller, Dee Baines and Paul Smith.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Kelly Offield.
