I am saddened to hear about David. Even though he was the youngest, Ken, Steve, and I would tease him all the time. He told me some time ago about his lifelong dream being realized when he got to drive a train and I won’t ever him surprising me at the Beacon Drive Inn along with his brothers Ken and Steve. Although we were all poor and living in our own little Mayberry World we were blessed with good neighbors and a tight community. If one of us suffered a loss whether it was someone’s house burning down or the loss of a loved one or someone who died without family or money and had to be buried we all pitch in a little to help. Earl Helton’s Store was both our school bus stop and our meeting place and we all our families would buy groceries, gas, and kerosene there. My heart and prayers go out to Ken, Steve, Barbara and Mary. I didn’t know that Sandy had passed until I read this obituary. We are all just children growing old now. Keep the laughter and the memories in your hearts. God has promised to comfort you and I know he will. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
To all that’s have prayed helped and everything we are all grateful thanks to Cathy her daughter and granddaughter children and everyone else ….please pray for day children this has been hard on them .and on behalf of the odum finally we especially thank Shirley Meade for all the kindness she has showed him along the Way . Dave was such a kind and loving man who had been a big part of our family for twenty plus years.. He always greeted you with that big country smile..His humor would keep you laughing for hours. I’m pretty sure he started my oldest son’s obsession with flashlights, knives, or anything to do with prepping..:) He always made sure to stuff Zack’s pockets full of these things when leaving from a visit. He was loved by so many, I know they’re lots of broken hearts tonight because of his abscence.. I know he definitely made his mark on our little family and we will forever miss him..We love you Aunt Cathy, I pray God wraps his arms around you during this sad time♡♡
