Anthony James “AJ” Pickle, age 34, of Bristol, Tenn., gained his wings on Monday, February 17, 2020. He was born April 2, 1985 and was a lifelong resident of Bristol, Tenn. AJ was a graduate of Sullivan East High School and worked in construction. He was preceded in death by grandparents, James and Cora Pickle, Evelyn Foshay, Paul Longo, Jr., and Bill Massengill.
Survivors include his wife, Jessica Pickle; mother, Debra Lingerfelt; father, James Pickle; stepfather, Nathan Pope; children, Billy Slaughter and Makensie Pickle; brothers, Morgan Pickle and wife Nono, Joseph Webb, Jacob Johnson; sisters, Jamie Royal and husband Danny, Shalana Price and husband Josh, Samantha Smith and Summer Canter; grandmother, Bertha Pope; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and special aunt, Barbara Preato.
A celebration of AJ’s life will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at East End Christian Church, 1316 Texas Ave, Bristol, VA, with Rev. Sam Murray officiating. Family and friends are invited to potluck and fellowship following the service in the fellowship hall. He will be interred at Price’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Weaver Funeral Home would be appreciated to help with funeral expenses.
