Ronnie W. Hale

Ronnie W. Hale went to be with his Heavenly Father unexpectedly, due to complications of surgery, on January 10, 2018 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tennessee.

He was born on February 22, 1945, and was preceded in death by his parents, the late William L. Hale and the late Vivian Jones Hale Worley.

Ronnie was retired from AEP, Kingsport Division, in line maintenance supervision. He was an avid sports fan, and for many years participated in off-road motorcycle events sponsored by clubs sanctioned by the Southeastern Enduro and Trail Riders Association and the American Motorcycle Association.

He was the SE&TRA season enduro champion in his age division in the late 1980s, and he also earned the state championship in the Virginia Championship Hare Scrambles Series for three years in the 1990s. Among his many other interests were classic cars, RVs, and traveling. If something was broken, he enjoyed the challenge to fix it.

He became a member of Calvary Baptist Church at a very young age, and continued to attend throughout his life.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathy Talley Hale; his daughters, Melanie Trinkle and husband Tommy, Laura Baker; sons, Tim Hale and wife Donna, Jeff Baker; brother, Lewis Hale and wife Kerry; grandchildren, David Motley, Jade Gammon and husband Devin, Taylor Redmond, Kasey Redmond, Ellie Baker, Bodhi Baker and Peyton Williams.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randall Morton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will follow the service at Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Goodwin, John Smith, Buddy Burns, Arvil Vance, Doug Vance, Charlie Arnold, Clayton Arnold, David White and Dennis Spangler.
