George Donald Snapp, age 85, of Bluff City, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Johnson City Medical Center.

 

He was born May 29, 1932 in Blountville, Tenn., a son of the late Landon Haynes and Flora E. Snapp. George was a lifelong resident of the Bluff City area. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. George retired from Reynolds Metals and he was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lynn Snapp.

 

He is survived by his sons, Alan Snapp and wife Linda, Larry Snapp, and Rick Snapp and wife Kris; brother, I.B. Snapp and wife Pearl; sisters, Inez Bise, Floretta Donahue and husband Wayne; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

 

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Buddy Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will follow the service at Glenwood Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
