Elmer Allison Ollis, Sr., age 89, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 6, 2018 at his residence. He was born May 25, 1929 in Piney Flats, Tenn., a son of the late Martin Pearlo and Bessie Pearl Osborne Ollis. Elmer was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served during the Korean War. He retired from Raytheon after 30 years of service. Elmer was a member of the South Holston Ruritan Club and the Zollicoffer Lodge #444 F&AM Masonic Lodge where he was a past Master. He was also a member of the Jericho Shrine Temple and Scottish Rite.
Elmer was a member of Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Marty Ollis, Scott Ollis, and Gerry Ollis; sisters, Edna Stevens and Zulene Glover; and brothers, Jack Ollis, Donald Ollis, and Verlin Ollis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Dottie Morton Ollis; sons, Allen Ollis and friend Anna, Chris Ollis and wife Shari; daughter, Cyndi Barker and friend Randy; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Velma Glover, Alma Lee Nelson and husband Clyde, and Bernadine Donnelley; brothers, Max Ollis and wife Edna, Harold Ollis and wife Jean; and a special caregiver, Amanda Marshall.
A Masonic Memorial service will be conducted by the Zollicoffer Masonic Lodge at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel followed by the funeral service with Rev. Gary Rowlette officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:45 p.m. prior to the service. The committal service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Mountain View Cemetery.
