Carolyn Sue Young Smith, age 80, of Bluff City, TN, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 7, 2018 in Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Rocky Top, TN formerly Lake City, TN on December 27, 1937 a daughter of the late Everett and Pansy Paralee Bailey Young. Carolyn was a 1957 graduate of Lake City High School. She moved to Bluff City in 1958 and was a former employee of Raytheon. She was a member of Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church. Carolyn had a very benevolent heart and was thrifty so she could give back to those in need.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Smith Jackson; siblings, Margaret Hyder, B.J. Young, Clint Young, Gaynell Young and Linda Vowell.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Bob Smith; daughter, Vickie Blevins and husband Robert; son, Chris Smith; grandchildren, Bobbie Griffith and husband Mike, Jenna Quintero and husband Jeremiah, Jessie Blevins and fiancé Seth Baird, Jamie Jackson; great grandchildren, Corbin Griffith, Stella Quintero, Norah Baird, Julian Quintero and Olivia Griffith.
The funeral service for Mrs. Smith will be held 8 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Susan Lankford and Rev. Don Good officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 until 8 prior to the service. The committal service and interment will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Sunrise Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jamie Jackson, Mike Griffith, Jeremiah Quintero, Seth Baird, Jason Vowell, Robert Blevins, and Jim Jackson.
